Waikato outdoors enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice this summer as Kiwi outdoor adventure store Torpedo7 joins The Warehouse at The Base in Te Rapa. This is Hamilton’s second Torpedo7 store and it will employ a team of 20 when fully staffed. The spacious venue offers a wide array of outdoor adventure gear from leading local and international brands, including Torpedo7's own brand range.
Torpedo7 stores are run by outdoor enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Between them, the Te Rapa team include hikers, campers, snowboarders and downhill mountain bikers, with plenty of local knowledge and expertise to share with customers to help them make the most of their passions, be it to swim, bike, run, climb, or camp.
“I am proud to be leading such an athletic team and as we are all keen outdoor enthusiasts, we are looking forward to customers coming down to meet us and see our awesome new store,” says store manager Kelly Zame. “We can help set everyone up for summer and ensure they have all they need to enjoy the sun, surf and brilliant hiking and biking trails that the Waikato has in abundance. We look forward to seeing you out there!"
Te Rapa follows three other store openings for Torpedo7 this year including its new flagship location in Auckland. Further stores are planned for Manukau and New Plymouth prior to Christmas.
“The Base is a perfect expansion of our network and I am extremely happy to be opening another store in the Waikato where our traditional Head Office was and our National Distribution Centre still is,” says Tim Edwards, CEO Torpedo7. “This store is going to be amazing, we have an fantastic team and huge customer demand and, on top of this, the new store is jam-packed with some of our latest retail thinking.”
