Supporting MBIE to enable access to essential items online

Under new rules announced by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, The Warehouse Group has been asked by government to supply a limited range of essential products to support New Zealanders and New Zealand essential business during the COVID-19 lockdown period. The Warehouse Group will supply a limited range of essential items from The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming and Torpedo7. 

Our physical stores will remain closed, but a government-approved range of essential items will be provided via The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming and Torpedo7 websites as well as through the call centre and delivered using contactless delivery. 

To support this supply of products, we will operate two closed Warehouse Stationery locations, six closed The Warehouse locations and ten closed Noel Leeming store locations as fulfilment centres, as well as utilising our two national distribution centres. In addition, the Group will partially re-start its supply chain including Noel Leeming fulfilment centres to supply items and services to government departments and other essential business – e.g replacement products for insurance claims involving essential items.

Team members who work to support the fulfilment of orders will be working under strict hygiene, and safe distancing protocols to keep them safe.

At this time, the essential items that we have been approved to sell online from The Warehouse include hygiene, health and beauty items, baby supplies, homewares including bedding, blankets, heating, engine oil, batteries and the like. 

Items available for purchase from Noel Leeming include items needed for working from home and home schooling, such as computer accessories, laptops, routers, etc., and items for cooking and food preparation such as toasters, kettles, ovens, fridges and washing machines.  Air purifiers and heating essentials are also included as the weather cools.

The items we’ll be offering through Warehouse Stationery include office furniture, computers & tablets, mobile phones, ink & toner, printers, tech accessories and general stationery (writing, filing, paper, exercise books etc.).

Essential items available for purchase through Torpedo7 include bike parts such as lights, lubes and cleaning, accessories, brake pads, tubes, tyres, chains, helmets and high-vis gear. The parts on offer are either essential based on replacing parts or to ensure cycle safety, health and wellbeing.
