Official Canterbury Soft Plastics Launch

The Warehouse is proud to be part of the soft plastics recycling scheme. This scheme enables the public to bring their plastic bags, rice, bread, frozen food etc. bags back to our stores where they will be recycled. The recycled materials will then be made into outdoor furniture by a company called Replas. Last Friday saw the extension of the programme to Christchurch and Ashburton where the scheme was officially introduced by local MP and Cabinet Minister, Nicky Wagner. The seat in the picture was made from recycled soft plastics. The programme has been operating very successfully in Auckland and the Waikato and will be introduced in to the Wellington region later this year.
